Tosca Debt Capital doubles headcount

03/03/2016

Toscafund Asset Management’s (Toscafund) Tosca Debt Capital Fund business (the “Fund”) has doubled its headcount with three new additions to the team.

Judith McMath joins the Manchester-headquartered firm as corporate development director from Wells Fargo Capital Finance, where she was regional director for the North of England and, over a ten year period, was involved in a number of high-profile transactions.

With extensive knowledge of the corporate finance market across Manchester and the wider North, Judith, a chartered accountant, adds tremendous experience to the business. Her key focus will be on developing relationships across the region and delivering flexible funding structures to regional SMEs and shareholders.

Investment manager, Oliver Reece, also joins from Wells Fargo Capital Finance, with his ten-year career in the North West corporate advisory market including roles with Deloitte Corporate Finance and Barclays Leverage Finance.

Finally, chartered accountant, Craig Monks, joins Tosca Debt Capital as investment executive from EY, where he worked with founding partners Gary Davison and Richard Williams for five years in the Capital and Debt Advisory team.

Richard Williams, partner at Toscafund, said: “The calibre of our newly-extended team is second to none and are valuable assets for us as a regional lender. Judith’s deal structuring and underwriting experience and extensive network of professional contacts across the North of England will be of particular value to the team as we look to extend our reach and deploy our capital.

“Dedicated to the regional market, we’re uniquely placed to capitalise on opportunities to work with local businesses and support their funding requirements. Since our inception last September, we’ve had a steady flow of introductions from advisors, investors and shareholders. We have also completed two transactions and a third is due shortly, that collectively will have deployed more than £30m of capital and we look forward to building on our achievements.”

The ‘Fund’ offers flexible debt capital to SMEs based in the North of England and is quickly establishing itself as the lender of choice for regional firms.
