TDC announced as Lloyds Bank National Business Awards finalist

26/07/2018

TDC (Tosca Debt Capital) has been shortlisted for New Business of the Year at the 2018 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards.

The Manchester-based debt capital fund launched September 2015 and to date has raised c.£320m in institutional capital to drive SME growth across underserviced regional markets.

TDC is the UK’s only regionally-based and SME-focussed debt fund. Successfully diverting capital away from the London-centric investment market, its team of 10 hand-picked regional dealmakers have so far deployed £175m+ of funds across 16 regional SMEs, helping entrepreneurial management teams realise their ambitious and boost the health and wealth of regional economies outside of the capital.

Gary Davison, partner at TDC, said: “To be recognised for our efforts as entrepreneurs as well as funders is a great achievement. We’ve had an excellent start with growth surpassing our expectations and this is testament to our expanding team of outstanding dealmakers who always go above and beyond; building exceptional relationships with our portfolio and within the regional corporate finance markets.

“TDC was founded to shake up an investment market that favoured larger businesses and left SMEs underserviced. The appetite for our offering has been exceptional, with our networks continuing to grow, which has laid the foundation for an exciting future. Having quickly outgrown our initial targets, we’re now working towards a vision of raising £1bn of capital by 2023 for deployment across regional markets, particularly those within the Northern Powerhouse, to support wider economies and boost job creation and growth.”

Sarah Austin, brand director of The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, added: “All entries faced a rigorous judging process, which is why the awards are an accolade to true, world-class achievements, offering businesses the credibility and encouragement to continue in their ambitious success. Due to the high-level of competition witnessed this year, all finalists should feel incredibly proud.”

TDC will now present in front of a panel of judges and leading business influencers and the winners revealed on November 13th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
