TDC put their best foot forward for International Women’s Day
The Tosca Debt Capital (TDC) team took to the streets of Manchester this afternoon to raise funds for The Pankhurst Trust, in the lead up to this year’s International Women’s Day.
We were joined by clients and partners on a guided tour of the city centre, titled ‘Manchester Women’, examining the achievements of the city’s women over the past 300 years. The money raised during the event will be donated to The Pankhurst Trust, a charity incorporating both The Pankhurst Centre and Manchester Women’s Aid.
From the Pankhurst sisters to the worker bees of The Industrial Revolution, the 90-minute walk took us on a journey exploring Manchester as a city of strong women. Following the tour, walkers refueled with Afternoon Tea at The King Street Townhouse.
As a proud Manchester business, we are keen to recognise the achievements of the city.
Judith McMath, Corporate Development Director, comments: “Manchester is steeped in history, with many strong females at the forefront of the city’s achievements. It was a great day and a chance to acknowledge and reflect on the talent and resilience of the region’s women.”
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, which takes place on Friday 8th March, is #BalanceforBetter, addressing the need for a more gender-balanced world. Although the professional services industry remains male-dominated, we have always challenged convention and attracted diversity within our team.
Today’s charity walk continues our work as champions of women and diversity. Last year we sponsored Rebecca Burgum’s #Galchester, a magazine celebrating the creativity of Manchester’s female community. More details about our community initiatives and partnerships can be found here.
